hi, I'm james. I'm in san francisco, building software, AI tools, and small products at weird hours.

the weird hours kind of pick themselves: I have three kids under three, so when one of them wakes up at 5:47 I'm up. and on the other end of the day, building with AI right now is so fun that I'll look up from a problem and the sky is pink. either way I'm at the desk before the sun is, basically every day. that rhythm is still where most of this portfolio comes from.

what's come out of those hours so far: Ghostie (a local Mac app with little tools for being a better friend), Sitter, Gauge, Lodis, and a pile of smaller tools and experiments. Most of what is here started as something I wanted to use myself, then turned into a way to learn in public.
